10 Things to do in MN this winter

City of Edina 4th of July Parade

Parade:

Parade begins at 10 a.m. behind Edina City Hall (4801 W. 50th St.)

Theme: Edina High School Hockey

This year's theme honors the historic dual Minnesota state high school hockey titles won by the Edina High School Girls Hockey and Boys Hockey teams. Representatives from both teams will serve as parade grand marshals.

The hour-long parade features veterans, marching bands, floats, horses, musicians, clowns, and more.

Organizers recommend spectators arrive early, since an estimated 20,000 people will attend the parade.

If you don't have a favorite spot already, consider trying out the parade start at City Hall. There will be bleachers to accommodate extra people and an emcee announcing each group.

Fireworks:

Fireworks at 10 p.m. at Rosland Park (4300 W. 66th)

As is tradition (since 1970), the First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band will perform the evening of July 4th. Music begins at 8:30 p.m.
